Dana White isn’t confident that we’ll see Jon Jones on the UFC White House card.
For the past few months, Jones has been calling to be on the historic card set to take place on the White House lawn.
Just this weekend, Jones tweeted that he wanted to face Alex Pereira on the card.
Alex, I’d be down to bring the highest skill level to the White House. I appreciate the respect you showed, let’s dance.

White, who has previously shot down Jones fighting at the White House, was asked by Al Arabiya English about the likelihood of Jones being on the card, and it doesn’t sound too promising for the former UFC champ.
“I don’t know. We’ll see. Jon retired, and he wants to fight at the White House. The likelihood of him fighting at the White House is, I don’t know. I don’t see it happening.”
White sounds more confident about McGregor fighting on the card than Jones.
“He wants that fight very badly. I don’t think there’s any secret about that. He and I actually talked today, and he seems like he’s in a good place, mentally, emotionally, and now he’s got to physically get ready if he wants to fight on that card. If we can get the motivated, fired-up Conor McGregor from the past back, then maybe he’ll be headlining the White House.”
Jones insists he’s staying ready just in case White changes his mind.
Despite the odds, I’m still training and optimistic about the possibility of being part of the White House event. At the end of the day, Dana is the boss and it’s his call whether I compete that night or not. I do know Dana was really excited about the fight, and the door hasn’t…
