UFC CEO Dana White is speaking out after Canelo Alvarez revealed that he was going head-to-head with the UFC’s ultra-expensive event at the Sphere.

Earlier this week, Alvarez announced that he would fight Edgar Berlanga on September 14th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the same day the UFC will hold its PPV event at the Las Vegas Sphere.

While speaking with ESPN, White didn’t have an issue with Canelo or his promoter Al Haymon for going head-to-head with the UFC but blamed longtime partner MGM for giving the boxer the T-Mobile arena on September 14th.

“Canelo’s one of those guys that I respect and hey, good on [PBC’s Al] Haymon,” UFC president White told ESPN on Friday. “Haymon snatched that date right away from me. The guys at MGM have done nothing but f—ing disrespect me and the UFC for 20 years. It is what it is. Here we go.”

White has already spent $16 million on the Sphere event, which will be headlined by Sean O’Malley and Merab Dvalishvili.

“I’m already $16 million into this thing,” “This will never be replicated. Anybody who comes in after me into The Sphere is f-cked. We’re working on the card and tweaking it every day. Everybody should want to be on that card. Believe me when I tell you, everybody was all fired up about UFC 300. This thing is going to be, you know, and again, if you are Mexican and you are on this, it’s just going to be like nothing anybody’s ever seen before.”
