Brutal Daniel Jones Preseason Pick Six Has Giants Fans Pining For Shedeur Sanders

The New York Giants signed quarterback Daniel Jones to a four-year, $160 million contract extension ahead of the 2023 NFL season.

Now, just one year later, the Giants and their fans are looking for a way out of that contract. And Jones’ preseason performance isn’t doing much to change their minds.

Jones threw a brutal pick-six in the first half of New York’s preseason game against the Houston Texans on Saturday that had fans clamoring for the team draft a quarterback in 2025.

Specifically, they wanted the team to draft Colorado star Shedeur Sanders.

Those calls didn’t get any quieter when Jones went back out on the very next drive and threw another interception.

Thankfully for New York, Jones’ contract has an out following the 2024 season. So the Giants won’t be on the hook for the entirety of the horrendous contract that gave him just one year ago.

Unfortunately, however, they don’t have any better options heading into what looks like a potentially painful season.

How bad has Jones been of late? Even Tom Brady took a shot at the Giants signal caller in a recent interview.

“I can’t [be too critical] on TV. There are parents and there are family members [listening],” Brady said when discussing his transition into broadcasting. “I don’t want to necessarily say it in that way… If I was doing it myself, and let’s say I threw a really bad interception, I would walk to the sidelines and I would say, ‘You are the worst QB in the world. How could you possibly make that throw?

“I don’t want to be so critical [in the booth]. In some ways, I don’t necessarily know what the problem was on that play. Let’s say, Daniel Jones throws an interception…”

After some boos from the crowd, Brady attempted to walk back his critique…sort of.

“I wasn’t even being critical of Daniel Jones!” he responded. “Well, maybe I was a little bit.”

We’re right there with ya, Tom…
