After weeks (months?) of speculation, wide receiver Davante Adams finally addressed the rumors that he wants to be traded to the New York Jets and be reunited with quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Adams, who signed a five year, $140 million contract with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022 following a trade from the Packers,

That same year, Aaron Rodgers signed a three year, $112,500,000 contract with the New York Jets.

Ever since then, Adams and Rodgers have done little to quell speculation that the wide receiver will eventually end up back with Rodgers in New York.

“He’s in that ear, that’s for sure… It’s not as easy, but obviously we can get together and talk about the old times, and the potential of doing this and that, but I’m a Raider and he knows that,” Davante Adams told Kay Adams earlier this month.

“I can’t wait to play with him… again,” Aaron Rodgers replied to someone at the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship who asked about Davante Adams a couple of days later.

So what exactly is going on between these two?

During Wednesday’s edition of Club Shay Shay, Davante Adams finally addressed it head on when Shannon Sharpe asked him about it.

“Well, I’ll answer it like this, if I’m gonna be reunited with anybody, it would be Aaron, or be relocated and be anywhere, it’d be with Aaron.

“But that’s not really my, there was a lot of that stuff going on last year in the media and them asking, ‘What are you gonna do about this? Are you thinking about going here?’ And they talk about whatever without me even being involved in it.

“And it ended up getting all the way to the point where it got in the locker room, and people was thinking that I was the driving force, and I’m like, y’all just don’t understand, man. When you, and I hate to say it like this because it makes me sound like I’m trying to put myself on a pedestal, but when you’re a certain level of player, it don’t have to come from you, and most oftentimes it’s not coming from you.

“And I’m not the type of person that I enjoy going and and putting that type of stuff out there when I’m actively on the Raiders. What do I look like sitting here talking to other people about being on another team, and that’s how I still feel about it right now, like, I’m locked in with with the Raiders and and I really feel good about this team and as far as I know they feel good about me.”

Adams added that obviously it would be nice to play with Aaron Rodgers again.

“I already know what that’s like, which is similar to why I came here and reunited with Derek [Carr] was because I had familiarity with him,” he said.

Unfortunately for Adams, he only got to play one season with Derek Carr before the quarterback was unceremoniously shown the door. Thus the speculation that Davante now wants to reunite with Rodgers which will never end until one of them retires or it actually happens.
