After fueling speculation by liking an Instagram post suggesting that Davante Adams has played his last snap for the Las Vegas Raiders, Antonio Pierce and the Raiders organization have confirmed that the Pro Bowl pass catcher is up for sale for the price of a 2nd round draft pick and additional compensation.

Ever since the New York Jets traded for Aaron Rodgers in 2023, it’s been speculated that Gang Green would try to trade for Davante Adams, who went to Las Vegas to play with his former college teammate Derek Carr, who wound up leaving the Raiders before the pair even took a snap together.

According to top ESPN NFL analyst Mina Kimes, the Jets remain the most likely destination for the 31-year-old wide receiver, while also suggesting that Adams to the Ravens would be the “most fun” deal, while his landing with the Pittsburgh Pirates would be the “most logical” development. Kimes also said she’d like to see Adams on the upstart Washington Commanders, who look to have found a franchise quarterback in Jayden Daniels.

The Jets certainly look like they need Adams’ talents, as the offense has been largely dysfunctional through the first four weeks of the season, particularly when it comes to the production of their star wide receiver Garrett Wilson.

Heading into the Jets’ Week 5 matchup against the undefeated Minnesota Vikings in London, Wilson — who was expected to take the step into the game’s elite tier of wide receivers with Aaron Rodgers as his QB — has just 20 catches for 191 yards and a touchdown.

The trade deadline for the 2024/25 NFL season is Tuesday, November 5, at 4 p.m. EST, which also happens to be Election Day in the United States.

Throughout his ten seasons in the NFL with the Green Bay Packers and Las Vegas Raiders, Adams has 872 catches for 10,781 yards and 95 touchdowns, and has been named to the Pro Bowl six times.
