Davante Adams Rips DeSean Jackson For Pretending They’re Friends While Falsely Claiming He’s Unhappy In Las Vegas

DeSean Jackson recently asserted Davante Adams and the Raiders have a rocky relationship heading into the 2024 NFL season, but the wide receiver at the center of that claim firmly denied that’s the case while putting the source of it on blast for mispresenting what seems to be a pretty nonexistent relationship.

It’s been more than two years since the Packers sent Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders in a blockbuster trade that led to the six-time Pro Bowler signing a five-year deal worth more than $140 million that made him the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL at the time.

Adams had become pretty accustomed to being a member of a winning team while playing alongside Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay, so there have been signs he’s understandably frustrated with what’s transpired in Las Vegas since he arrived when you consider the Raiders posted a 6-11 record during his inaugural campaign before going 8-9 last season.

Bookmakers aren’t expecting the franchise to stage a drastic turnaround in 2024 when you consider the over/under on their win total is sitting at 6.5 games ahead of their season opener against the Chargers on Sunday, and at the end of August, DeSean Jackson bluntly stated “He is unhappy” while implying he’d talked to Adams about his feelings heading into the year during an appearance on The Herd.

However, it does not sound like that’s actually the case.

According to ESPN, Adams issued a stern rebuke to that claim while speaking with the media on Wednesday while calling out the former Eagles wide receiver for making up the report about his supposed discontent, saying:

“At the end of the day, the facts are the facts and that is not a fact.

“I’ve probably spoken to DeSean Jackson maybe three or four times in my life, and I never had a conversation with him [about this], ever. And I put that on my kids. I’ve never spoken to him about anything…

In terms of me being upset or not being happy in this organization, it’s just a bunch of BS that’s just meant to throw everybody off and get clickbait… If I was pissed off, I mean, I wouldn’t be here right now.”

There’s plenty of uncertainty surrounding the Raiders thanks in large part to their quarterback situation (Gardner Minshew was named the starter over Aidan O’Connell, but you’d be hard-pressed to find many people who view either of them as a franchise QB), and Adams’ production is obviously heavily contingent on the performance of the man in the pocket.

As a result, his stance could change as the season progresses, but he’s made it pretty clear there aren’t any lingering issues as things currently stand.
