David Benavidez believes he’s earned a fight against Canelo Alvarez.
On Saturday night, Benavidez impressed boxing fans when he put a brutal beat down on highly ranked Caleb Plant and won via unanimous decision.

After the fight, Benavidez straight-up called out Canelo for a fight in September.
“I have a lot of respect for Canelo Alvarez, but he has to give me that shot now, that’s what everybody wants to see me vs Canelo, let’s see it September.”

Earlier this week, Canelo, who is fighting John Ryder in May, didn’t sound too interested in fighting Benavidez during an interview Fight Hub’s Marcos Villegas.
“The rematch with Bivol is my goal, we need to pass this fight and then start talking about that fight against Bivol’
“Every fight is good for me and the fans, my goal now is Bivol and then we’ll see, if the fight with Bivol don’t happen then we’ll see other things”
