Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffs have officially hit rock bottom.
Last week, after the team lost its fourth game in a row, coach Sanders apologized to Colorado fans for the team’s performance.
“I apologize … that we didn’t send them out right, in which we wanted to because they deserve it,”
“They’ve been supporting the heck out of us, and they’ve been showing up and showing out — another sellout crowd that ended in disappointment,” Sanders said. “We’re so close. It’s what I told the team. But yet so far. We just simply, truly don’t know how to win yet.”
On Friday night, the Buffs got embarrassed by the Washington State Cougars, who were up 35 points at the half.

The Washington State fans mocked the Buffs with “overrated” chants throughout the game.

Update: The Buffs lost their game to Washington State 56-14 and Sanders said he was saddened by the team’s performance in first half.
“Very sad at how we played. We practiced hard this week, we prepared like no other, to display a performance like that is not who we are or how we are,” “I have been boasting since the beginning of the season that I had not seen us quit or turn it down. There were some plays in the first half that I didn’t see the passion I wanted to see. We got on them at halftime, and they went back out there and balled, I applaud them for fighting in the second half.”
