Deion Sanders is coming to the defense of Colorado State’s Henry Blackburn.

Over the weekend, Blackburn was the subject of much criticism after he delivered a late brutal hit on Colorado star Travis Hunter.

After it was revealed that Hunter was injured with a lacerated liver, Blackburn began receiving death threats from angry fans, according to Colorado State head coach Jay Norvell.

On Tuesday, Sanders addressed the situation by saying Blackburn does not deserve “death threats over a game”

“Henry Blackburn is a good player who played a phenomenal game… This is a still young man trying to make it in life … He does not deserve a death threat over a game.”

“I forgive him. Our team forgives him. Travis Hunter has forgiven him. Let’s move on. That kid does not deserve that.”

Hunter also addressed the Blackburn situation by saying he felt it was football play.
