Deion Sanders is ready to see his Colorado secondary on the football field. The head coach was heard hyping the group up as the regular season quickly approaches.

Coach Prime expects his defensive backfield to be one of the Buffs‘ strongest positions in the coming year. Here’s what he had to say with just two weeks to go before the season opener.

“I feel pretty darn good. Throwing the football against us is going to be a problem. You can see the secondary is upgraded… The back end, the safeties. Shilo Sanders is doing his thing. Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig is doing his thing.

“Trevor Woods is doing a wonderful job inside. LaVonta Bentley is doing a wonderful job… Depth is a key ingredient.”

Colorado’s secondary has been a topic of discussion this offseason, with many in Boulder expecting big thing.

Shilo Sanders was heard speaking on the group’s cohesion and new sense of accountability at Big XII Media Day. His father has apparently taken note.

He hyped the DBs even after they brutally mocked him on the practice field!

Travis Hunter and Shilo Sanders made fun of Deion Sanders’ rap career.

The duo was spotted recreating Coach Prime’s dance from his “Must Be The Money” single.

Will we see it debuted on Week 1 versus North Dakota State? Hopefully so!

Colorado will face off against the Bison on August 31 as it looks to best last year’s 4-8 output. Much has been made of the program this summer and its bowl game chances.

Some believe the team will see a marked improvement with new talent joining the roster. Others want to see progress on the field before making those predictions.

The program was painted in a rather negative light this month following accusations of a toxic locker room, though those around the team have denied the allegations. Others have taken shots at the talent, singling out supposed weaknesses on the roster.

The Buffs are doing their best to ignore the outside noise and keep the focus on the task at hand. Travis Hunter is doing his part, as are the rest of the defensive backs judging by the recent praise.

We’ll see if Deion Sanders’ prediction about his secondary comes to fruition.
