Deion Sanders Sounds Ridiculous Complaining About Travis Hunter And Shedeur Sanders Video Game Ratings

Colorado Head Coach and NFL legend Deion Sanders goes to bat for his players, especially when it comes to his sons, Shedeur and Shilo Sanders, and his star two-way player, Travis Hunter.

That’s a good quality for a coach to have, as long as it’s for all of his players and not just a few favorites. But, his latest comments show just how much he is focused on a select few players over everyone else.

If you haven’t heard, for the first time in eleven years, a new licensed college football video game, EA Sports College Football 25, will be released next week. Details are being released daily by EA Sports, and we had the release of player ratings for the top 100 players in the game on Wednesday.

And, the ratings were great for Colorado! Shedeur Sanders was tied with Georgia’s Carson Beck as the highest-ranked quarterback at 93 overall, while Hunter was the top wide receiver at 96 overall.

Those are good numbers, and frankly, probably ratings that those two don’t deserve based on their body of work so far. Not that they shouldn’t be highly ranked, but they’re not the best wide receiver and quarterback in the country. I understand that Hunter’s skills as a defensive back probably factored in, too, but Shedeur was sacked 73 times last year and was given an awareness rating of 98.

But, those lofty ratings weren’t good enough for Deion Sanders. He criticized the rankings on Thursday.

“I don’t know nothing about that video game. I’m not a video game guy. I love video games but I’m a real game guy. I don’t know. Like, you guys talk about ratings and rankings, I don’t know about that stuff.

I’m just trying to figure out how can Shedeur be tied with another person. How did that happen? And how can Travis not have the highest score on the game when he’s arguably the best receiver and the best defensive back in college football? So, how can you not be the number one rated guy, period? I don’t understand that either.”

First off, a coach probably shouldn’t be commenting on ratings from a video game. And, his comments come off completely tone-deaf and ignorant. It just shows how unfocused the Colorado program is right now and how badly they need a good season after Deion’s first year resulted in a 4-8 season with the team winning just one conference game.
