Deion Sanders is in the midst of spring practice with his Colorado football team. It’s a turbulent time for many around the nation.
The transfer portal is wide open, and tampering is running rampant. It’s hit Boulder according to Coach Prime. He called out the shady school by name ahead of his team’s annual spring game.
A video of the accusation was posted to his son’s Well Off Media page on YouTube this week. Near the end of a practice session, he touched on the spring game and the response that could follow.
“The whole country’s gonna see you,” he said. “Those of you that have been here, you know this. How much they give you love and how much they give you hate. Get to work and you go ahead and check your phone after if you want to…
“These lights are bright. They cause you to shine but they can also burn you… We’re gonna be on national television. Put on for your family. Put on for the name on the front and on the back.”
Before exiting the facility, Deion Sanders joked about finding “somebody that ain’t getting in the portal” to break down the final huddle.
“Where’s Carter [Stoutmire]? Carter got offered the bag,” Sanders continued. “Virginia, you gotta stop. I let you have one. I ain’t say nothing about it. C’mon now.”
The Cavaliers reportedly hosted transfer running back Isaiah Augustave on Thursday. He made that decision public two days prior. Sanders claims Virginia made contact prior to his entry. Apparently, they wanted to nab another Buff while they were at it!
Colorado’s upcoming spring game could present another obstacle for the program. Deion Sanders has been adamant on getting as many eyes as possible on Colorado. The event will be televised on national TV at a time when many are either closing the game to the media or cancelling it altogether in fear of tampering rivals getting a look at their rosters.
The Buffaloes fell victim to that very scenario in Coach Prime’s first season. Wide receiver Montana Lemonious-Craig hit the portal hours after a 150-yard performance in the 2023 spring game. He landed at conference rival Arizona.
Sanders isn’t worried about opponents poaching his roster this spring. Those that do will get called out. He sent a message on Thursday by singling out Virginia. Tampering taems beware!
