The Delaware State football team ran into some turbulence ahead of its season opener this week when it missed its cross-county flight to Hawaii. Despite the snafu, players remained completely unbothered!

Rather than dwell on the adversity, team members used the circumstances to their advantage!

The Hornets are set to face Hawaii on Saturday as part of college football’s Week 0 kickoff. Odds were already stacked against Delaware State, who enters as a 39-point underdog.

That outlook quickly became worse when travel arrangements went awry.

The team missed its 10.5-hour flight on Tuesday due to what was deemed a “bus snafu,” which caused a late arrival to the airport. It was then reported that the team had to break up into groups while boarding separate flights in order to get everyone to the destination on time.

Delaware State football players were completely unbothered by the situation!

Instead, many took the time to post updates on their status while gaining a little social media fame in the process.

Wide receiver Kenneth Everrett posted a video of him and his teammates prior to boarding their planes with a caption that read, “POV: Your team going viral for missing a flight to the first game.”

“We getting there, relax!” he said.

The rest of the team shared that outlook, including head coach Lee Hull.

What else is there to do in an airport lobby?!

The Hornets officially arrived in Honolulu on Thursday and are set to practice later this afternoon.

The team seems loose given the circumstances. We’ll see how it translates on the field.
