After the video surfaced several people commented on how the NBA and NBAPA should step and reach out to West to get help.
I don’t wanna see the NBA pushing anymore mental health initiatives until they help Delonte West in some way

I hope the NBA players association puts there arms around Delonte West tonight. Send a PJ to go get him. Have your lawyers get an emergency probate order for commitment. Save his life.
Let’s not be there for his death and not for his life.

West’s former college teammate Jameer Nelson commented about the situation on Twitter.
Phil Martelli, who coached West and Jameer Nelson for three seasons at Saint Joseph’s, responded to a post from Nelson and added that he was working on getting Delonte some help.
Over the past several hours I have talked with many who are willing to help – please read and embrace Jameer’s wisdom – we are reaching out to our basketball network to get the professional help Delonte needs. This is so very painful. https://t.co/8IAuTdzCc9

Hopefully West eventually gets off the street and gets the help he needs.
