DeMarcus Lawrence made it pretty clear he doesn’t think the Cowboys have what it takes to win a Super Bowl after signing with the Seahawks. That did not sit well with Micah Parsons, and the two men traded words after the remark that sparked the beef went viral.

It’s been close to 30 years since the last time the Dallas Cowboys both won and appeared in a Super Bowl, and the team hasn’t even been able to get as far as the NFC Championship Game since they capped off the dynasty they built in the early 1990s with a win over the Bills in The Big Game in 1996.

Dallas missed the playoffs last season in the wake of three straight postseason appearances (two one-and-done runs that sandwiched a loss in the Division Round), and as things currently stand, the team hasn’t made any major moves that suggest they’ll be able to turn things around in dramatic fashion next season.

Defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence spent the first eleven seasons of his NFL career with the Cowboys after they drafted him with the 34th overall pick in 2014, but he opted for a change of scenery when free agency kicked off earlier his week by inking a three-year, $18 million deal with the Seahawks.

Lawrence wasn’t afraid to throw some shade at his former team while discussing his decision to move on in an interview where he bluntly stated “I know for sure I’m not gonna win a Super Bowl there” while justifying his decision to part ways with Dallas.

That comment drew the ire of one of his former teammates, as Micah Parsons dismissed the take as “clown s—t” stemming from “rejection and envy” before Lawrence fired back by telling the Cowboys linebacker he should spend “less time tweeting and more time winning.”

The two men likely won’t have the chance to settle their differences on the field next season, as the Cowboys and Seahawks aren’t scheduled to play each other. They could theoretically meet in the playoffs, but that would require both squads to make the postseason after missing it last year.
