The Demond Williams saga at the University of Washington continues to get messier. The QB has reportedly been dropped by his agent amid a contract dispute.

The news comes hours after the passer was linked to a controversial advisor. His football future has become even more unclear as the transfer window nears its end.

Williams has been with the Huskies since the 2024 season. He gained the keys to the offense as a sophomore and lit the Big 10 on fire.

The gunslinger threw for over 3,000 yards and 25 scores. He ran for six more touchdowns on his way to all-conference honors.

He was expected to return to lead the team in 2026. Plans have since changed.

Demond Williams is in the transfer portal.

That news broke in early January on the first day of the portal window. It blindsided the Washington football staff, who’d recently extended an offer to utilize his services another year longer.

It was reported that the quarterback signed an NIL deal worth $4 million to play for the Huskies next season. Days later, he went back on that commitment.

LSU was immediately mentioned as a potential landing spot, sparking tampering accusations surrounding Lane Kiffin. It was rumored that he’d been offered $6 million to become a Tiger.

Those around the Washington football program have been critical of the passer, including the wife of head coach Jedd Fisch. This week, new details emerged on his now-open recruitment.

Williams was linked to advisor Cordell Landers, who was said to have played a part in Nico Iamaleava’s contentious exit from Tennessee. Landers denies the relationship, calling the “false narratives” an attempt to drive engagement.

The QB has been dropped by his representation.

While the possible bond between Demond Williams and Landers remains unclear, his professional relationship with Wasserman agent Doug Hendrickson has been made evident.

The two parties are no longer working alongside one another.

Hendrickson also represents Washington coach Jedd Fisch. He announced his split with Williams on social media Thursday. His reasoning was listed as “philosophical differences.”

With his representation now gone, Williams’ future becomes murky. Not only is he still searching for a new college football home, but he’s also at risk of action being taken by Washington after backing out of his allegedly signed deal.

At this point, the passer is still on the market. It seems there is a way to go before this messy situation is resolved. He has since partnered up with sports lawyer Darren Heitner.
