Derrick Henry has been an absolute phenom at every level of football he’s ever played. The Baltimore Ravens running back was born to run the football.

Recently, a graphic showing his stats in the NFL, college, and high school went viral on social media. While many are simply in awe of his stats, a lot of people are criticizing his high school coach, Bobby Ramsay, for overusing Derrick Henry.

First, here’s the graphic.

Those are some ridiculous stats at every level. In fact’s Derrick Henry’s high school total is the all-time national record. It makes sense that Derrick Henry could put up numbers like that. Not only is he going to be a Hall-of-Famer, but he’s absolutely huge. Those kind of backs always seem to be the toughest to stop in high school football. And, Yulee High School wasn’t playing at the highest divisions of Florida High School Football.

But, 1,397 carries for a high school football player is a lot of carries. Yes, he was almost always the biggest player on the field. But, that’s a lot of hits for a kid to take between the ages of 14 and 18. In his senior year, he carried the ball 462 times. In one game, Derrick Henry carried the ball 57 times. Plenty of people are saying that’s too many carries for a high schooler.

He’s been a really durable pro, all things considered. It doesn’t seem like that heavy workload has caused him to break down.

In fact, Derrick Henry is having a great year this year at age 30. He’s carried the ball 145 times for 946 and 6 touchdowns through eight games.
