Deshaun Watson Is Reportedly Interested In Getting Traded To The Carolina Panthers

The Deshaun Watson trade rumors are coming in hot.

The disgruntled Texans QB, who has openly been at odds with owner Cal McNair, has a no-trade clause in his contract and would have to approve a trade before getting moved this offseason.

It has since been revealed that Watson has interest in getting traded to Miami but the Texans might not be into the idea of acquiring Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa.

Miami has a quarterback with upside in Tua Tagovailoa, but that could be a deal-breaker for the Texans. Tagovailoa, a former Alabama standout who had his moments during his rookie season, isn’t regarded as a quarterback the Texans will view as an adequate replacement for Watson, according to multiple league sources.

The Texans are considered far more likely to draft a quarterback, someone like Ohio State’s Justin Fields or BYU’s Zach Wilson, to replace Watson than swap him out for Tagovailoa.

According to Fox Sports’ Jason McIntyre, Watson is telling people that he wants to play close to his hometown Atlanta which makes the Carolina Panthers a sleeper pick for him.

“While I was prepping for this segment I had somebody influential in the league text me and say the team I’ve heard is the Carolina Panthers, a deep sleeper for Deshaun Watson,” “Apparently, he is telling some folks he would not mind going home. He grew up in Atlanta, about four hours from Carolina and Matt Rhule has set up a pretty good foundation there in Carolina … they have a lot of good offensive weapons.

“Just keep an ear out for Carolina. I’m on the (New York) Jets train. The league would love that. But keep an ear out for Carolina.”

It’s going to be a long offseason for Texans fans because I’m sure there are going to be a ton of Deshaun Watson rumors popping up in the next few months.
