Detroit Lions punter Jack Fox is one of the funniest characters in the NFL. His pregame outfit on Sunday was unlike any other in league history. It has never been done before. It was truly one of one.

Fox arrived to Ford Field dressed like a knight. He wore a full suit of armor, including the helmet.

(It was a costume, but still! The helmet might be real.)

Fox’s arrival creates a hilarious mental image. The 27-year-old had to wear the armor from his house to the stadium.

Imagine this:

You’re driving to get a cup of coffee and a breakfast sandwich at about 9:30 a.m. on a chilly Sunday morning in November. You might be a little bit hungover.

As you pull up to a red light, you look over at the car next to you. There, a man is sitting in his own vehicle while dressed like a knight in shining armor. You have no further context. You might think that you are seeing things. Your mind must be playing tricks.

Little do you know, unless you’re a Detroit Lions expert or a huge fan of specialists, that man is fifth-year punter Jack Fox. He’s on his way to face the Chicago Bears with hopes of helping his team to an 8-2 record.

Specialists are known to be some of the most eclectic athletes in the world. They are always up to something and Fox was clearly in the mood to be silly on Sunday.

At the same time, as comical as it might have been, Fox’s outfit sent a message. He is ready for battle!

Hopefully someone in the media is smart enough to ask Fox about his wardrobe decision after the game. What on earth could have inspired him to dress like a knight in shining armor?!
