Lane Kiffin made an important visit on Thursday afternoon while Ole Miss works hard to flip five-star quarterback recruit Deuce Knight from Auburn. In doing so, he accidentally sparked outrage on the Plains by taking a harmless picture of a mannequin.

The photo was completely misconstrued to be something it is not.

Knight, a native of Missippi, has scholarship offers from 25 programs ranging from Alabama, Miami and Georgia to TCU, Colorado and Louisville. He originally committed to Notre Dame way back in September of 2023 but that decision did not feel like it was going to stick. Sure enough, the 6-foot-4, 205-pound signal-caller flipped to Auburn at the start of October after playing mind games with his top suitors during the early portion of his senior season.

Now, more than six weeks later, Knight is considered a likely candidate to flip for a second time. The Magnolia State star was on campus in Oxford for Ole Miss’ upset win over Georgia and loved what he saw. Meanwhile, the Rebels are preparing a lucrative NIL package to compete with what is being offered by the Tigers and the coaching staff continues to whisper in his ear.

Deuce Knight is on flip watch, again!

Kiffin traveled to George County High School on Thursday to meet with his potential future quarterback. As is often the case, he made a (not-so) cryptic post on social media to indicate his whereabouts.

The photo featured a mannequin in full uniform. As you can see below, it is very clearly a mannequin. Knight is definitely not wearing the uniform. Knight is not even in the photo.

247 Sports’ Tigers-focused affiliate got a little bit confused by Kiffin’s post on X.

Auburn Undercover thought the mannequin in the picture is actually a real live person and expressed concerns about the head coach’s recruiting tactics on the AU message board.

Unless the rule has changed, a coach posting a photo of a recruit who has not signed is illegal.

Fortunately, a subscriber quickly pointed out the egregious misunderstanding.

That’s a mannequin at Duece’s school

Oops!!! Marshall confused a mannequin for a five-star quarterback and accused Lane Kiffin of illegal recruiting because he took a photo of the mannequin, which was not Knight. That’s a bad one.

Ole Miss has received multiple commitments from high-profile recruits in the days following its win over Georgia. Five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham was one of them after Auburn rolled out the red carpet for multiple visits to the Plains. Dante Core also buried delusional Tigers fans with just one word.

It feels as though Deuce Knight is also going to flip his commitment in the coming days— unless Marshall reports Kiffin to the NCAA for taking a photo of the mannequin and gets him sent to supermax…
