Deuce Knight is currently committed to play college football at Notre Dame. However, Auburn and Ole Miss are still in the picture and he played mind games with the Fighting Irish during his first high school football game of the season on Friday.

Recruiting is total chaos in the modern era of social media and NIL. Everything is about image.

Knight, a four-star prospect, is the fifth-ranked player at his position in the Class of 2025. The 6-foot-4.5, 206-pound dual-threat quarterback hails from Mississippi and plays for George County.

Even though the flagship university from his home state is in hot pursuit, Knight committed to Notre Dame last September. It was announced more than 15 months before the pen will hit paper during the Early Signing Period in December— or 17 months before National Signing Day in February.

Verbal commitments don’t mean anything. Nothing is official until the ink dries. And even then, there are ways to get out of a National Letter of Intent once it has been filed. College football recruits can flip at any moment.

Deuce Knight is playing mind games!

Head coach Marcus Freeman believe the Fighting Irish have done enough to get Knight to South Bend. Hugh Freeze and Lane Kiffin don’t agree.

Auburn and Ole Miss are keeping the foot on the gas with a full-court press. They want him to change his mind and spurn Notre Dame at the last minute. They want to land their quarterback of the future.

Meanwhile, Knight is teasing his suitors.

He began his senior season on Friday and played the first half with a Tigers towel.

He flipped towels at halftime and showed love to the Rebels.

What does it mean?? That’s what Freeman, Kiffin and Freeze want to know.

Ole Miss and Auburn’s NIL collectives are working hard to lure Deuce Knight away from Notre Dame, which seems likely at this point. These next few months are going to be a grind for all three schools on the recruiting trail— especially if their top quarterback target continues to tease them!
