On Friday, Pat McAfee brought his ESPN hit show, The Pat McAfee Show, to Morgantown, West Virginia, home of his alma mater, West Virginia University. Morgantown was rocking ahead of West Virginia’s huge game against #8 Penn State to kick off the season on Saturday.

Having Pat McAfee come to your campus is a big enough thrill for many college students. But, one lucky Mountaineer student had one of the best days of his life, winning free college tuition thanks to a great shot from New York Knicks PG Deuce McBride.

With Pat McAfee joining the panel of ESPN’s College GameDay last year, he traveled around to the host campuses early plenty of times to host a live show of the Pat McAfee Show the day before the game. While College GameDay won’t be at West Virginia-Penn State this weekend, as the game is airing on Fox, he still made the trip to Morgantown before trekking to College Station for GameDay tomorrow.

Last year, McAfee allowed students to shoot a shot from long range for a chance to win free college tuition. I’m not sure if bringing in an actual basketball player will be a weekly thing, but McAfee called upon fellow WVU alum Deuce McBride to shoot for the giveaway on Friday.

Naturally, he made it.

That’s not the only money that Pat McAfee gave away on Friday. He also gave a $1 million donation to West Virginia’s NIL fund in honor of the teams he played with that were among the best in program history from 2005-2008.

To that college kid, free college tuition might as well be $1 million.
