After the disappointment caused by the end of Game of Thrones and the grind of watching House of the Dragon, HBO’s Westeros universe scored a much-needed win this spring with A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Dexter Sol Ansell, who stars in the series as Egg, is one of the many reasons why.
Dexter Sol Ansell is one of the series’ two lead stars alongside Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan the Tall. The relationship between the two is the heartbeat of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, making the casting of Egg a key factor in the show’s success, which HBO clearly nailed as Ansell was the breakout star of the first season.

In addition to Claffey as Dunk and Ansell as Egg, the first season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms also starred Daniel Ings, Shaun Thomas, Tanzyn Crawford, Danny Webb, Henry Ashton, Daniel Monks, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, Carla Harrison-Hodge, Rowan Robinson, Edward Ashley, Danny Collins, Ross Anderson, Bertie Carvel, Sam Spruellm, Finn Bennett, Steve Wall, and more.
Following the success of season one, HBO is reportedly hoping to have a second season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms ready to premiere next year.
