In March of 2024, Taylor Rooks and Joy Taylor — two of the most famous women in sports media — launched a podcast called Two Personal, which was described as being a podcast that gets “brutally honest about the toughest conversations we need to have.” The podcast saw Taylor and Rooks talk about a litany of topics outside of sports.

A few months ago, however, Taylor Rooks quietly stepped away from the podcast, apparently citing her busy work schedule, which has recently grown after being tapped to host an NBA show for Prime Video when they get the rights to The Association next year.

In late November, Rooks stepped away from the podcast, claiming to be leaving on a temporary basis due to her NFL and NBA obligations, but implied she’d return to the show when her schedule freed up.

If you go to the Two Personal Instagram page, however, Rooks’ name has been removed from the biography and it’s now being projected as being Taylor’s show, with all of the videos featuring Rooks being removed from the page.

Joy Taylor’s comments from when the podcast was launched — similar to Emmanuel Acho’s tweets about her — are now being seen in a new light following allegations that she “used her sexuality to get on a show,” as Taylor would seemingly frequently position herself as some kind of women’s empowerment crusader that was fighting against the patriarchy.

“[Women] aren’t just sitting around talking about Housewives,” Taylor said. “Sometimes we do, or we talk about our nail color. But sometimes we’re also talking about our childhood trauma, sometimes we’re talking about business, sometimes we’re talking about deep cultural things that influences how we feel about ourselves. And the patriarchy. Anyone who’s friends with me knows at some point in the dinner conversation, I’m gonna bring up the f—— patriarchy.”

Given the bombshell allegations being made about Taylor and what they mean for women in sports media in a broader sense, speculation has begun brewing that perhaps Rooks left the podcast to not be associated with Taylor if and when this story became public.

“Joy Taylor f—– her way to the top? Least shocking thing I learned so far this year. Now we know why Taylor Rooks dipped from that podcast after a month,” read one tweet in response to the lawsuit.

Taylor has yet to make a public statement about the allegations since the lawsuit against Fox Sports was made public on Sunday, January 5.
