Diego Pavia is apparently getting advice from Johnny Manziel ahead of the NFL draft.
At the end of last year, Pavia found himself in hot water when he trashed Heisman voters for not voting him as the Heisman winner.
Pavia eventually apologized to Heisman voters for trashing them in public.
“Being a part of the Heisman ceremony last night as a finalist was such an honor. As a competitor, just like in everything I do I wanted to win. To be so close to my dream and come up short was painful. I didn’t handle those emotions well at all and did not represent myself the way I wanted to. I have much love and respect for the Heisman voters and the selection process, and I apologize for being disrespectful. It was a mistake, and I am sorry.”
Ahead of the NFL draft, Pavia sat down with reporters and revealed he’s been getting advice about becoming a professional from Manziel.
“He’s giving me what to look out for, what it’s like, how to stay in the process,” Pavia said regarding Manziel. “And, you know, he’s given me some good advice, for sure. And he always reaches out, too, checks up on me, makes sure I’m good, and he just, like, he’s just a friend to me, you know? And so he’s giving me some mentorship. He’s been around me, he’s been around my family. He’s just a great person for those that really don’t know him.”

Oh perfect. Nothing says long term franchise stability like getting career guidance from the guy Johnny Manziel. https://t.co/bY8LVKzlNX
