Diego Pavia was subject to a lot of criticism for how he acted at the Heisman Trophy ceremony. However, second most outstanding player in college football this season showed his utmost respect for women while shooting yet another shot at Tate McRae in New York City.

He would never expect a kiss on the first date!

Say what you will about Pavia. He will always be himself.

Diego Pavia apologized for his behavior.

Pavia was invited to the Big Apple as one of the best players in college football and finished as the runner-up in Heisman Trophy voting for a reason. Love him or hate him, you watched.

Vanderbilt won 10 games for the first time in program history in large part because of its quarterback. Vanderbilt!

However, the 23-year-old sixth-year signal-caller ruffled quite a few feathers along the way with how he acted. He is confident and direct. Some people might say he is arrogant and immature.

Pavia did not help to improve public perception while in New York. He refused to remove his wired earbuds during his first conversation with representatives of the Heisman Trophy, trashed the voters on Instagram after he lost to Fernando Mendoza and partied with a ‘F— Indiana’ sign in the club after losing.

It wasn’t a great look. A lot of his supporters changed their tune.

Diego Pavia later owned up to the behavior and apologized for how he acted.

Katie Feeney of ESPN spoke with Pavia before the award ceremony over the weekend. She asked him about his pursuit of pop superstar Tate McRae.

The whole thing started back in October when Pavia promised Theo Von a date with his mom— but only if Von could set him up with McRae.

Von tried but he failed.

That did not stop Pavia. He shot his shot at McRae while partying with Johnny Manziel in Miami in November. She did not get back to him. Nothing yet.

Feeney followed up on the quest over the weekend. She asked Diego Pavia where he would take Tate McRae on a first date, which would include laser tag or a helicopter ride around New Year’s Eve.

When Feeney implied a New Year’s kiss, Pavia very quickly shut her down.
