DiJonai Carrington was not happy with how the Minnesota Lynx broadcast crew spoke about her play. She proved, once again, to be the whiniest player in the WNBA.
It is always something.
This latest instance is, once again, much ado about nothing. The WNBA veteran made a big deal of a harmless quip in direct reference to a horrendous blown pass for absolutely no reason.
DiJonai Carrington wears contacts.
Carrington was struggling to keep her contact lens in her eye throughout much of the second quarter against the Dallas Wings. Literally. That is not a joke or a jab. It is the truth.
She wears contacts for her vision. The contact lens kept falling out of her right eye.

DiJonai Carrington proceeded to throw a really bad pass to nobody right after she finally got the contact lens back to where it belongs. There was no one around. She completely missed her target.
In something of a joking manner, the announcer made a quip about the contact lens to explain the bad pass. Here is the exact moment:
Announcer wrong for this LMAOOOO https://t.co/bVPtKkm09F pic.twitter.com/uNialvAhJi

Carrington took issue with the comment.
“home announcers being shady is crazy work, can’t lie. anyways, pray for me yall🙏🏽,” she posted on X.
Seriously. A harmless joke — rooted in truth — hurt her feelings.
First and foremost, if Carrington does not want to be the butt of the joke, she might try to make a better pass. Secondly, it’s a joke. Relax. Thirdly, it was a real thing that happened!
DiJonai Carrington was struggling to fix her contact lens just moments before she threw an awful pass under the basket to nobody. There was an actual possibility that she could not see her target. It was not just something the announcer made up out of nowhere. It would’ve been better if that was the truth.
Nope!
Carrington made a bad pass. Period. The contact was not an issue. To even suggest otherwise, joking or not, is apparently considered “shady.”
The whiniest player in the WNBA is whining again.
