Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks was arrested for DUI in Arizona just hours after his Suns lost a game at home to the Chicago Bulls. Brooks is currently sidelined with a broken hand.
According to reports, 30-year-old Dillon Brooks was arrested for Driving Under the Influence in Scotsdale, Arizona, during the early hours of Friday, March 6. TMZ got their hands on Brooks’ mugshot and published it online.
Brooks had surgery to repair his fractured left hand — which he suffered on Saturday night in a 113-110 double-overtime win over the Orlando Magic — earlier this week and is set to miss least the next four-to-six weeks before being re-evaluated.

“Authorities tell us the small forward was pulled over in Scottsdale around 1 AM for traffic violations. After an investigation, Brooks was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. He was taken to Scottsdale City jail and processed … and was released from custody around 3:30 AM. We’re told he was respectful and cooperative throughout the incident.” [via TMZ]
Brooks is mostly well-known in NBA circles for his physical defense and trash talk on the court, becoming the epitome of “a guy you hate but would love to have on your team” player, similar to Draymond Green (except less sociopathic).
This season, Brooks’ first with the Suns, the 30-year-old is averaging a career-high 20.9 points per game, in addition to 3.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists per contest.
With 20 games remaining in their 2025/26 regular season, the Suns currently sit 7th in the Western Conference with a record of 35-27, which would see them be the top seed in the West’s postseason play-in tournament. If they can overtake the currently 6th-seeded Los Angeles Lakers — they’re currently two games back — then they’d earn an outright postseason berth.
