The Houston Texans have waived recently added wide receiver Diontae Johnson. The pass catcher played two games with the organization before being cut.
According to reports, the roster move comes shortly after Johnson threw a temper tantrum in the Houston locker room. That tirade came as others celebrated a Texans playoff win.

According to ESPN, Johnson was unhappy with his target share in the victory over the Chargers. The wideout caught one pass for 12 yards. It was his only target of the day.
Following the Texans’ wild-card playoff victory over the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday, Johnson was visibly upset in the locker room. He was fully dressed sitting at his locker staring in frustration because of a lack of playing time and targets. Running back Joe Mixon and linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair tried to comfort and encourage him.

Diontae Johnson was added to the Houston roster in late December. It represented his third team of the 2024 season. Previously, he suited up for the Panthers and Ravens. Both opted to move on. Now, the Texans have done the same.
The veteran has reportedly been a locker room nuisance dating back to his time in Pittsburgh. He expressed unhappiness with the Steelers last offseason, resulting in a trade to Carolina in mid-May. The Panthers then traded him to Baltimore where the headaches continued.
Johnson was suspended and eventually cut after refusing to play in a game against the Eagles. He played just 39 snaps for the Ravens. Apparently, he expected his usage to increase with Houston. That, unfortunately, wasn’t the case.
He’s now been dropped by four different NFL franchises in an eight-month span. This latest outburst doesn’t bode well for his future. The Texans, meanwhile, will look ahead to a divisional round matchup vs. the Chiefs.
