Everything is far from alright, alright, alright in Austin, Texas after the beloved Longhorns lost to the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday night.
In the aftermath, Texas fans are under fire from the SEC after littering the field with trash in protest of a pass interference call against the Horns.
Their protests eventually worked, as the call was overturned. But Texas went on to lose the game anyway and disappointed diehard fan and legendary actor Matthew McConnaughey in the process.

Matthew McConaughey Calls Out Texas Fans In Heartfelt Letter
“Longhorn nation and specifically our DKR student section, M.O.C. McConaughey coming at you here,” the statement began.
“First off, you were electric Saturday night when we hosted Georgia. Bravo. Let’s continue to bring it. Even though our Horns didn’t get the W, you created a measurable home field advantage.
“But let’s get real about the bottle boming (SP) the field glitch we had. Not cool. Bogey move. Yeah, that call was BS, but we’re better than that. Longhorn Nation knows how to show up, show out like no other, and still keep our class.
“So, going forward let’s clean that kind of BS up and leave that behind us for good. We have to shake hands on that.
“Next up, November 9th, when the Gators come to town, let’s make sure they feel the heat, can’t hear the play calls, and burn their timeouts — but remember, nothing hits OUR field except that Texas fight.
“Til then, Root hard and Hook em. McConaughey.”
You know things are bad for Horns’ administration when they bring out the big guns. And that’s clearly what’s happening here.
While Texas fans throwing trash on the field is certainly an awful look, it wasn’t as bad as the look for the referees. Something they called pass interference, convened, agreed upon the call, and then reversed it only after the fans littered the field.
Surely there needs to be some reprimand of those officials, right?
Either way, the Longhorns are still very much alive in the race for an SEC championship and first-round bye in the College Football Playoff despite the loss.
And should they get to either, or both, you can expect to see McConaughey in his usual spot on the Texas sideline.
