Sports doctors are beginning to chime in on the worrying Shohei Ohtani injury.

On Saturday night, Ohtani tried to steal second base in the bottom of the seventh and appeared to injure his arm.

Fox Sports’ Ken Rosenthal would later report that Ohtani was dealing with a shoulder injury.

On social media, two prominent sports media doctors have given their opinion on the Ohtani injury.

Former NFL doctor David Chao, he revealed his diagnosis.

“By video, worry for left shoulder anterior/inferior subluxation/dislocation. Details/updates at http://SICscore.com. At least his team up 2-0.”

Doctor Jesse Morse shared a similar diagnosis.

“Here’s what I see and what I’m thinking.”

“Apparent left upper extremity injury, likely shoulder but appears to be favoring his upper and lower arm.”

“On an attempted steal of second, he slid in with his left arm trailing, and there’s a possibility he subluxed his left shoulder while trying to slow down and not go past the base.”

“This would be consistent with his grimacing, and traditionally, if there is an injury to the labrum with this type of movement, it would be what we call a SLAP tear.”

“He may have subluxed (slightly dislocated) the shoulder, but it’s not blatantly obvious.”

“I’m expecting X-rays, which will likely be negative and then an MRI.”

I’ll provide an update when we get more information.
