Foxboro High School is not going to shy away from the New England Patriots. Spot the ball.
The Warriors issued an official challenge to the NFL regular season champions after they caught a stray from starting quarterback Drake Maye.
This hilarious sequence of events in Massachusetts is likely to lead to the first-ever high school football game against a professional organization. Kind of.
Drake Maye addressed the New England Patriots’ easy schedule.
The New England Patriots are going to finish the regular season with no less than 13 wins. However, their success is often discredited by their schedule. It is considered “easy.”
- vs. Raiders — L
- @ Dolphins — W
- vs. Steelers — L
- vs. Panthers — W
- @ Bills — W
- @ Saints — W
- @ Titans — W
- vs. Browns — W
- vs. Falcons — W
- @ Buccaneers — W
- vs. Jets — W
- @ Bengals — W
- vs. Giants — W
- vs. Bills — L
- @ Ravens — W
- @ Jets — W
- vs. Patriots — ?
All things considered, it is not the easiest schedule in the league in terms of metrics. But it’s close.
The Patriots are tired of hearing about it.
Drake Maye recently spoke about the outside criticism. He doesn’t get it. The NFL is hard. Period. It does not matter what team is on the schedule, they all have good players. It’s not like New England is playing Foxborough (Foxboro) High School, he said.

Oof! The Warriors caught a stray.
Foxboro High School is ready for the challenge.
Foxborough High School, which goes by just Foxboro, is a 15-time league champion and five-time state champion. The Warriors won their most recent state title in 2023 at 12-1, and finished as the runners-up in both 2024 and 2025.
They are a local powerhouse that always seems to get hot during the playoffs.
However, Foxboro has not yet filled out its schedule for next season. It needs an opponent for Week 1.
Who better than the New England Patriots?!
“We’re actually looking for a Week 1 game next season if you’re interested,” the official team account wrote on social media in response to Maye’s quip, tagging both the quarterback and the organization.
The Warriors are not afraid of a challenge! Head coach Jack Martinelli — in his thick Boston accent — doubled down with a formal offer to begin the season with a local crosstown matchup.

Mike Vrabel accepted the offer. Kind of. Martinelli has been the head coach at Foxboro since he was playing for the Patriots, not just coaching, so there is a history there. He wants to get something on the schedule. Whether that be a scrimmage during training camp, whatever.

There is a zero percent chance that it happens, but… imagine if New England goes on to win the Super Bowl and then lose to Foxboro during the preseason next year. I love this.
The Warriors will play anyone, any time, any place. Spot the ball.
