US sprinter Noah Lyles started a hot debate after questioning why NBA players call themselves “world champions” after winning the Finals.

Players across the league called out the bronze medalist over his take. Now, it appears rap icon Drake has entered the chat.

According to Bleacher Report, Drake sort of mocks Lyles over his NBA take in an Instagram post.

The popular hip-hop artist claimed, “He thought this speech was gonna be so hard in the mirror the night before… Now the whole league doesn’t rate u.”

To be fair, Lyles’ comments did seem a little scripted. It was almost like he was practicing his set for a comedy routine or something.

On the other hand, it’s kind of funny seeing Drake go to bat for NBA players as if he’s in the league too.

Players around the league handled the situation. It’s not like they needed Drake’s help or anything.

Either way, Noah Lyles’ comments sparked a debate that had pretty much had everyone arguing whether it’s okay for NBA players to call themselves “world champions.”

NBA players, Drake, and sports analysts everywhere had something to say about Noah Lyles’ comments.

Both sides of the argument make sense. However, this is peak offseason banter. We’ve only been watching baseball and Lionel Messi for the last month and a half.

We desperately need the NFL and NBA to return. Luckily football kicks off on September 7.
