Draymond Green is facing backlash for his comments about playing on Christmas.

Last week, Green and the Warriors hosted the Dallas Mavericks for their Christmas Day game.

After the game, Green jumped on his podcast to complain about playing on Christmas.

“Playing on Christmas Day also f–king sucks. And the reason it sucks is, number one, what I—what I just said, uh, it can affect your mood. Number two, we are human beings and, just like everyone else, enjoy Christmas Day with our families.

“That kinda gets messed up for us. Um, they’re in their homes or on vacation with their families, makin’ memories. We don’t—we don’t get that opportunity. So I hate when people are like, ‘Oh man, it’s an honor to play on Christmas Day.’ People should shut up. Like, no—you should shut up, because whether you played on Christmas Day or not, I don’t—I don’t really care about the perspective.”

Fans immediately blasted Green over his comments.

“NBA players are the only professional athletes who routinely say this kind of thing. I don’t think it’s great for the brand as a whole to be represented by guys who routinely say how difficult it is to be a zillionaire by way of a kids game.” said one fan.

“I feel bad for all people working on Christmas except those that make 30 mil a year dribbling a ball” commented another fan.

It is worth noting that Green earns $25 million/year in salary, and was paid $300k to play on Christmas.
