Draymond Green didn’t agree with Steve Kerr’s strategy in Team USA’s most recent basketball matchup against Serbia. The Golden State forward voiced his frustration with his NBA head coach on social media during the contest.

It was the latest criticism of Kerr and his staff in the Paris Olympics, which come despite the squad cementing a spot in the gold medal game.

It’s an issue that’s caused many to lash out against Kerr throughout the summer event.

At times, the head coach seems more interested in sticking to his lineups than putting the best players on the floor. Kerr caught flak after Game 1 for not playing Jayson Tatum a single minute, sparking another reaction from Green.

“Not playing [Tatum] was wrong,” he said on his Draymond Green Show “We all know it was wrong. He should’ve played. He didn’t… From the outside looking in, [Kerr’s response] comes off as, ‘We made a mistake as a coaching staff.'”

Kerr’s received similar criticisms for the benching of Joel Embiid and Jrue Holiday.

The coach went into the Games with the mindset of experimentation, but many believe he’s overthinking it.

Luckily for Steve Kerr, those decisions haven’t come back to haunt the Team USA basketball team. After ripping off five straight wins, they’ll play for a gold medal vs. France.

That nearly wasn’t the case as the squad fell behind by as many as 17 points to Serbia on Thursday. Thanks to monster fourth quarter and a 36-point night from Steph Curry, the Americans were able to overcome that deficit.

They’ll now line up with the host country with first place on the line. We’ll see if Steve Kerr heeds Draymond Green’s advice and opts to play the best lineup as opposed to continuing with his rotations.
