Social media personality Druski has revealed that he attempted to apologize to Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba after intentionally mispronouncing his name at the NFL Honors when presenting him with the Offensive Player of the Year Award. JSN, however, did not respond.
While presenting him with the awards for the 2025 NFL Offensive Player of the Year at the NFL Honors during the week of Super Bowl LX, Druski — known for his viral comedy sketches on social media– mocked the pronunciation of Jaxon Smith-Njigba’s name, stealing the spotlight away from the wideout in his big moment.
Druski said that he attempted to reach out to Jaxon Smith-Njigba to apologize but the Seattle Seahawks wide receiver did not answer
While being interviewed on CBS Mornings this week, Druski admitted that he took it to far and revealed that he tried to reach out to Smith-Njigba to apologize. JSN has yet to respond.
“I like to mess around and sometimes you can go too far,” Druski said while also adding that it’s not the easiest name to pronounce. “I reached out and congratulations to him, the team on the Super Bowl. I thought that was an amazing thing. Yeah I didn’t get no response back, but I did reach out, I tried.”

NFL fans seemed to agree with JSN’s decision to give Druski to cold shoulder as he is not obligated to accept his apology as the damage was already done: his moment of being handed the Offensive Player of the Year award was already tainted.
It’s not JSN’s responsibility to respond back
I wouldn’t either. You intentionally disrespect me during the biggest honor of my life so you can make the moment about yourself?

“Trying to be funny when announcing the biggest accomplishment of a young man’s career. No wonder you didn’t get a response,” one NFL fan said.
“Cause you ain’t that important. you’re just a jester all the leagues use to have something the fans can laugh at,” a second added.
After winning Super Bowl LX against the Patriots, Smith-Njigba was given the opportunity to expand on his family’s name.
“Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Put respect on it, you here me? Sierra Leone. My grandfather came to the United States in the 70s. Had to work for everything that he had,” Smith-Njigba told BSO after winning the Super Bowl.
“He brought a lot of people over here. He brought a lot of family over here and he was the leader and he took pride in who he was and what he had to give back. I represent him. I represent my family. I represent Sierra Leone. Bo, Freetown. It’s an honor just to even say that,” he continued. “I appreciate you asking that question because I wanted to say that up here in front of y’all and I take great pride in it.”
.@druski pushes the limits in his comedy — but he says that all his work “comes from a good place, a good-hearted situation.”

In the Seahawks 29-13 win over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX, the 2025 Offensive Player of the Year had a relatively quiet game, as he caught four passes for 27 yards and no touchdowns, which means all of his “under” bets hit.
