Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola is not the most fit quarterback in college football, relatively speaking. He has always been a little bit pudgy and there is nothing wrong with that!
However, a recent video of the rising sophomore has sparked concerns about his weight.
Raiola, a five-star prospect in the college football recruiting Class of 2024, flipped his commitment from Ohio State to Georgia and later to Nebraska. His freshman year was a rollercoaster.
Although the Cornhuskers finished above .500 at 7-6 with a win in the Pinstripe Bowl, they won five of their first six games and then lost five of their last six. There were moments in which their true freshman signal-caller looked like the next big star who will lead a floundering program back to relevane. There were also moments where he looked like, well, a true freshman.
The biggest storyline surrounding Dylan Raiola had nothing to do with his on-field play. He bears a striking resemblance to Patrick Mahomes— from haircut, to leg sleeve, to jersey number. The cosplay, which Raiola claims is not intentional, got pretty weird. Even his mannerisms and celebrations were/are identical to the three-time Super Bowl champion.
If you were to squint, the difference between Dylan Raiola and Patrick Mahomes would be indiscernible. That includes their builds!
Mahomes is listed at 6-foot-2, 215 pounds and carries a few extra pounds because it allows him to take big hits. Raiola is even heavier. He is listed on the Nebraska roster at 6-foot-3, 230 pounds.
The haters (sitting on their couches at home) love to use the f-word to describe the two quarterbacks… fat!
A recent video of Raiola does not help his case. Nebraska couldn’t get him a bigger jersey?!

The college football offseason will soon come to an end when winter conditioning gets underway later this month or early next. Dylan Raiola will get back into playing shape before he embarks on his sophomore campaign. For now, he might be a little bit heavier than the roster alludes!
