On Monday, the Philadelphia Eagles headed to the White House for a ceremony commemorating their victory in Super Bowl LIX. Cornerback Eli Ricks was one of the players who made the trek, and he is apparently a very big fan of Ivanka Trump based on what he had to say after encountering her in person.

Presidents have been inviting sports teams to visit them at the White House since Andrew Johnson welcomed a couple of baseball clubs to the residence in 1865, and that eventually spawned a tradition that’s seen a string of Commanders in Chief extend an invite to squads who are able to win a championship.

We were treated to some drama in 2018 after the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Patriots in Super Bowl LII, as Donald Trump opted to rescind the invitation he initially extended to the franchise after learning the vast majority of the players on the roster planned to boycott the visit due to their disagreements with his policies.

It seemed like history was going to repeat itself after the Eagles topped the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, as reports surfaced that suggested the team had decided to reject another invitation before it accepted an offer to head to Washington, D.C. to celebrate the victory that brought the Lombardi Trophy back to Philadelphia.

That visit transpired on Monday after Saquon Barkley played golf with Trump, and he was the most notable member of the delegation of 20-25 players who make the trek to the White House; Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown, and Devonta Smith were among the biggest names belonging to the sizeable group of guys who decided to sit things out.

Eli Ricks was one of the players who decided to take advantage of the opportunity, and it’s fair to wonder if he might have had an ulterior motive based on a couple of tweets he sent out about Ivanka Trump before retweeting some photos of her appearance at the ceremony after it wrapped up.

Unfortunately for Ricks, Ivanka has been married to Jared Kushner since 2009 and has given birth to their three children, but I’m sure there are some people out there who will be glad to learn about his dating preferences.
