We were treated to some fairly chaotic scenes on the streets of Philadelphia after the Eagles punched their ticket to the Super Bowl with a win over the Commanders in the NFC Championship Game. However, it’s pretty hard to top a video of a guy pulling out a gun and firing off a few shots into the air while celebrating the victory.

There’s little doubt we would have witnessed some massive gatherings in the nation’s capital if the Commanders had been able to make it to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1992. Unfortunately, Jayden Daniels’ impressive rookie season came to an end after the Eagles cruised to a 55-23 victory in the conference championship to earn the right to attempt to avenge their loss to the Chiefs in The Big Game in 2023.

Now, you might think that the fact that it’s only been a couple of years since the Eagles played in the Super Bowl would mean people in the city the team calls home would opt for a relatively subdued celebration. However, if you were under that impression, you obviously don’t know much about fans in Philadelphia.

It doesn’t appear officials in Philly opted to grease up the poles that were climbed by a number of fans who flocked to the streets (including one instance where a guy read A.J. Brown’s book of choice after posting up on top of a stoplight). However, that was far from the only type of fairly reckless behavior we were treated to.

The intersection of Frankford & Cottman in the Mayfair neighborhood has historically been a gathering place for Eagles fans in the wake of a big victory, and a YouTuber known as “The Philly Captain” headed to the area on Sunday night to witness the latest celebration—which included a guy pulling out a handgun and firing a few shots into the air.

While people in the immediate vicinity were understandably startled after the shots rang out, they carried on with the festivities after the brief interruption.

I feel like people who won’t think twice about firing off a gun in a massive crowd probably won’t change their ways after being reminded it’s a bad idea, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention it’s probably something you want to avoid doing.
