Brazilians might not be willing to accept this but the NFL is king. How do we know this? Because 7 of the 10 most valuable sports franchises on planet earth are NFL teams and none are soccer teams. These are facts.
We also know this because anytime the NFL travels to another country for a game the teams of those fans manage to take over whatever city they’re in and flatten it like a hurricane with loud, obnoxious, NFL fan behavior. Soccer hooligans and ultras fancy themselves as extreme but those betas would never be caught dead in public wearing full body and face paint in support of their team.
With tonight marking the second NFL game of the season, an international game in Brazil between the Eagles and Packers, some Eagles fans swarmed the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro to make themselves heard in a video that has since gone viral:

Over on TikTok where the video was posted by NFLonFOX, there are a LOT of concerned fans asking about why this brave American was out in about wearing all green with dyed green hair and white/green face paint when the NFL has cautioned against this sort of behavior from fans. A lot of the comments are ‘is he okay?’ and ‘can they walk around in green?’ as if the locals are somehow oblivious to the fact there’s an NFL game going on tonight (they aren’t).

Now… I’m not here to litigate who the loudest and most obnoxious fans in the NFL are. And Philly holds a special place in my heart. But what I do think is Eagles fans would be offended if you were to tell them fans of another NFL franchise were louder and more intense than them. So we’ll leave it at that.
