Philadelphia Eagles Juggling Offensive Linemen Due To Injury Before NFC Championship Game

The Philadelphia Eagles have received dominant play from their offensive line all year. They’ve been healthy, which is a huge part of it, and they’ve opened up running lanes for Saquon Barkley’s incredible season.

But, that continuity up front could be coming to an end at a really unfortunate time. Philadelphia Eagles center Cam Jurgens missed practice again on Thursday just three days before their NFC Championship Game against the Washington Commanders, forcing a change up front in case he can’t play on Sunday.

The Eagles have had great injury luck on the offensive line this year. Only superstar left tackle Jordan Mailata has missed serious time with an injury this year, as he dealt with a hamstring issue in the middle of the season.

But, Jurgens, who is in his first year a starter replacing the retired Jason Kelce, is dealing with a back issue. He didn’t practice on Wednesday, but some expected him back for Thursday’s crucial practice. That didn’t happen, at least not during the open media portion of practice. Not only did he not practice, but he wasn’t even seen.

Cam Jurgens struggled last week against the Rams in the team’s Divisional Round, and that makes sense now given the fact he’s popped up on the injury report.

Now, with him out, the Eagles are preparing to go with Landon Dickerson at center on Sunday if need be. That being said, Dickerson said he expects Cam Jurgens to play on Sunday.

If they do need to slide Dickerson over, 2023 third-round pick Tyler Steen will play in place of Dickerson at left guard.
