The NFL offseason is getting crazy as we’re starting to see some big names get released from teams.
With that said, it’s been a weird time for the Philadelphia Eagles as they haven’t made many moves so far.
However, the franchise turned heads on Wednesday after it was announced the front office is going to release superstar cornerback Darius Slay, per Adam Schefter.
Eagles plan to release CB Darius Slay, per sources.

I’m not really sure how this move makes any sense, as Slay is one of the league’s best cornerbacks. You’d think he would be a part of the Eagles’ plans moving forward.
Or, at least find a trade partner? Releasing him is a bizarre move that doesn’t make much sense.
As you can imagine, Eagles fans aren’t taking this news too well.

Well, for one fanbase it is.
That's terribly disappointing.

With a top-10 pick in the NFL Draft, the Eagles can do anything.
very confused. this must mean they are drafting a young stud at 10 and then resigning CJGJ. slay did low key fall off at the end of last year. i’m sure howie got something up his sleeve. #notworried

What is Howie Roseman doing?
First of all, they should keep him. Secondly, if they're not going to keep him, they should trade him. Why are they just releasing him?

The release will likely be after June 1, as doing so will give the Eagles over $20 million in cap space. Look for Slay to garner plenty of interest as a free agent.
