Where is Manu Ginóbili when you need him?! Saturday’s women’s basketball game between Eastern Kentucky and Central Arkansas was anything but ordinary.

Not only did the back-and-forth matchup go to overtime, but play was suspended halfway through because there was a bat in the arena.

After the game went to the break with the Bears ahead by 10, everything seemed normal. However, as the two teams came back out on to the court for the second half, a black, winged animal was spotted flying around.

It was a bat and chaos proceeded to unfold. Players and coaches ducked, dipped and dodged the bat while two Central Arkansas staffers tried to catch the bat.

Their attempts were unsuccessful, but hilarious. Equipped with only a trash can, they ran up and down the court trying to capture it out of mid-air.

Eventually, after a good chunk of time, the bat decided to leave on its own accord and play was able to resume.

The whole problem could have been solved a lot sooner if Ginóbili was in the arena. Back in 2009, the Spurs underwent a similar bat delay, but after it was presumed to be gone, it returned to the court.

Ginóbili ended up taking matters into his own hands and slapped it right out of the sky.

Saturday’s game between EKU and Central Arkansas didn’t end in quite as exhilarating of a manner, but the pandemonium that went down was equally, if not more entertaining. Watching the staffers run around with towels and trash cans is gold.
