Elsie Law is currently committed to play college volleyball at the University of Arkansas. She was not fazed by the “overrated” chants during pregame.

The 6-foot-3 middle blocker silenced the haters with a dominant performance during a three-set sweep.

This sequence of events will never get old on any level. I love nothing more than when a dominant athlete, volleyball or not, puts on a show after he or she got heckled by a rowdy crowd on the road.

Who is Elsie Law?

Law plays both basketball and volleyball at Salado High School in Texas. Salado is located approximately 53 miles north of Austin.

Even though Law actually received multiple Division-I offers as a hooper, her future is as a hitter. She ranks as one of the top middle prospects in the college volleyball recruiting Class of 2026.

It is not hard to see why. When Law is not bouncing balls for the Eagles, she stars for Austin Skyline Juniors on the club circuit.

The Razorbacks ultimately received her commitment at the beginning of the year.

Elsie Law highlights a strong recruiting class for an Arkansas program that fell off from a 28-6 season in 2023 to 16-12 in 2024. She is a big part of a necessary rebuild and could immediately slate into the starting 3-spot upon arrival to Fayetteville next summer.

Who is overrated?

Law and the Eagles got their 2025 campaign underway at the beginning of August. Salado got off to a hot start at 10-3 with more than two months of matches remaining in the regular season.

As you could imagine, Elsie Law has been the biggest star thus far. Blockers don’t have an answer when she is on the attack. Hitters cannot avoid her wrath as a blocker.

With all of the hype that follows her, so does the criticism. Students love to heckle her when the Eagles on the road but they should heed warning from Lake Belton.

The Broncos chanted “overrated” at Law during pregame and after an error in the back row during the first set. They very quickly regretted that decision. She humbled them in a hurry.

Law finished with 10 kills, four blocks and an ace.

Salado swept the match in three sets. The Lake Belton fans were forced to eat their words.
