Emari Jones is only 13 years old but he is already bigger than most high school football players. The monstrous eighth grader played in the Under Armour Next All-America Game on New Year’s Day and made his competition look like… well… middle schoolers.
If Jones can continue to dominate on the gridiron over the next four years, he will be a five-star prospect in the college football recruiting Class of 2029.
Jones hails from the small town of Seneca, South Carolina. Located less than 10 miles from Clemson University, its population hovers around 10,000. Dabo Swinney (if he is still there in four years) and the Tigers should have an upper-hand in the local defensive tackle’s recruitment.
Believe it or not, Jones is not the only player taller than 6-foot-4 on Under Armour’s 8th Grade roster. Three offensive lineman are 6-foot-5. However, they do not have the weight to match. Jones does.
Listed at 6-foot-6, 325 pounds, he is already taller and heavier than Houston Texans left tackle Laremy Tunsil. Tunsil is 30 years old. Jones is 17 years younger. You can’t miss him!
Did he just say 8th grade!?!? 🤯

Although Jones has yet to begin the second semester of his last year of middle school, he has already played two years for Seneca High School as a two-way player. The Bobcats called him up as a seventh grader and employed him as an offensive and defensive tackle. It is wild to watch a 12-year-old dominate guys who are as many as six years his senior.
His eighth grade tape is even more impressive and it earned him an invite to compete at the Under Armour NEXT All-America futures game.
One particular play from this past season stands out above the rest.

Emari Jones. Remember the name. If his trajectory continues upward, this 13-year-old is going to be one of the best 17-year-old college football recruits in the country!
