Philip Rivers’ time with the NFL is likely over.

Last month, the 44-year-old Rivers got a chance to play again after the team called him after Daniel Jones suffered a season-ending Achilles injury.

The Colts have lost three games with Rivers at quarterback and were officially eliminated from the playoffs this week.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Riley Leonard will likely get the start next week over Rivers.

On Sunday, after the Colts’ loss, an emotional Rivers spoke to the media and reflected on his improbable comeback.

“I’m gonna be on-board to do what best for guys. So if this was last one. Shoot. Again I told you guys I wouldn’t have any regrets about coming back and I don’t, other than us not winning right.”

“It’s been an absolute blast for three weeks. I wouldn’t, if I go back and say alright now, you know, everything is going to happen. What are you gonna do? Do it all again. It’s been absolutely awesome. And so yeah, I mean if the last one is the last one. I thought the last one was walking off field Buffalo. We’re walking up that tunnel and I was fine with that in that one.”

“I was at peace with that being the last one. So certainly if it is, I got three bonus games that never saw coming and couldn’t be more thankful than I got an opportunity.”
