The Alabama Crimson Tide took down the Georgia Bulldogs in a contender for college football’s Game of the Year, besting their SEC rival 41-34 in Tuscaloosa. You wouldn’t have known had you seen one particular ESPN graphic floating around social media!

The network prematurely anointed the Bulldogs as the game’s winner after seeing them take a late lead in the fourth quarter of action. The graphic aged, oh, so poorly.

The heavyweight matchup was a game of two halves.

It was all Alabama prior to the halftime break as the Crimson Tide jumped out a quick 28-0 lead. Georgia battled back in the second half, however, to erase that four-score deficit.

The Bulldogs took their first lead of the game with just over two minutes left on the clock when QB Carson Beck connected on a 67-yard bomb to wideout Dillon Bell.

Shortly after seeing Georgia grab that lead, ESPN posted a graphic alongside a caption reading, “Big Dawg. Georgia defeats Alabama in its largest comeback win in school history.”

It aged like milk!

Just one play after the graphic was posted, the Crimson Tide scored on a 75-yard Ryan Williams touchdown reception to retake the lead.

It would wind up being the game-winning score.

ESPN deleted the post shortly after it was published, but the internet never forgets!

Georgia may have fallen on the football field, but it seems the Worldwide Leader in Sports took the biggest L of the night!
