On Saturday, Smith spent most of his day waiting for Lane Kiffin to make his decision on his coaching future and providing updates for viewers at home.
At 11:00 PM, Smith provided his final update after Kiffin chose not to announce his decision on Saturday.
“Lane Kiffin and Athletic Director Keith Carter concluded their meeting some 90 or so minutes ago, the sentiment here in Oxford, Mississippi right now is that Kiffin’s unwillingess to commit is an indicator of his desire to g. I’m told if he wanted to stay, he would have already said so.”
Smith said he texted Kiffin to find out if thee would be a resolution tonight.
