ESPN’s Brian Windhorst is speaking out against Bronny James getting special treatment in the G-League. Last week, Shams Charania reported that Bronny would only play home games for the South Bay Lakers after being demoted to the G-League to begin his training.
According to Charania, there’s a chance he gets called up to play again with the Lakers this season.
“For now, sources said, the G League plan is for Bronny James to play in only South Bay home games – as he shuttles between both leagues and team manages his time on respective rosters.”
On Wednesday, ESPN insider Brian Windhorst ripped into LeBron and the Lakers for only allowing Bronny to play home games.
“He’s only going to play in the South Bay Lakers’ home games. He’s only going to kind of be a part-time G League player, and he’s not getting on United Airlines to fly to these road games. I know he’s getting somewhat special treatment and nepotism. That’s fine; honestly, I don’t care. Like I said, it’s normal.”
‘Now, I think it’s actually detrimental to him. I don’t like that. I don’t know whose idea it was, but obviously, the Lakers are fine with it—they’re doing it. On this particular instance, I think that’s gone too far, and I don’t think it benefits Bronny. I don’t think it benefits the South Bay Lakers, and I don’t think it benefits LeBron at this point.”
“I’m gonna apply the brakes on my ‘everything’s fine’ on the Bronny front…”👀

Fans on social media agreed with Windhorst’s comments.
“If the focus is developing Bronny as a player, then him playing in half the games he could doesn’t make much sense.” commented one fan.
“This has been a circus since he got drafted but this takes the cake right here. This is ridiculous” said another fan.
