ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit is officially fed up with college football fans claiming he has an SEC bias.
Two weeks ago, Herbstreit jumped on the Ryen Russilo podcast to deny that he or ESPN have an SEC bias.
“Let me ask you this: the coaches do a poll, the AP does a poll, the CFP rankings do a poll – they all must be guilty of SEC bias?” Herbstreit said. “… I went to Ohio State, I was a captain at Ohio State, you don’t think I want to promote the Big Ten? You think it makes me happy to sit there and promote good teams? I’d love the SEC to have three teams in the Top 25 and the Big Ten to have eight. That’d make me happy.”
“Everybody recognizes the SEC is a step ahead of everybody else. Why is this so hard for people to put your arms around? Wake up. It’s a reality.”

On Tuesday, in the latest episode of his nonstop podcast, Herbstreit went on an expletive-ridden-rant again blasted fans who insist he has an SEC bias by calling them “idiots”
“[Texas] A&M, Georgia, Ole Miss. Bama would be the fourth, potentially fifth team, in these rankings for the SEC. We’re not trying to, these idiots that say, ‘How much do people pay you to say this bull—?’ F off. We’re talking about the sport. We’re talking about what we care about. I don’t give a s— about the SEC. I give a s— about how are they gonna find these 12 teams. How are they gonna split these hairs at 11, 12, 13, 14.
“It’s fascinating to me. I don’t really care who they put it. Put Miami in. I don’t care. I don’t care if you put six Group of 5 teams in. Do whatever you wanna do. I’m just saying, based on the Sagarin ratings, the AP, the coaches’ poll, everybody recognizes the depth and the challenge of the SEC.
I’m sure Herbstreit will go on another rant calling out college football fans before the end of the season.
“I get so tired of the bulls–. I just get so f—–g tired,” Herbstreit said. “These people talking about the SEC, how much they pay you — are you kidding me? I’ve been here for 30 years.”
